简介
Jesse Ferguson is a Canadian singer-songwriter with a passion for connecting to audiences through song. His rich, smooth vocals have turned heads during live performances, on his popular YouTube channel, and on his solo CDs. A musician since childhood, Jesse cut his teeth as a public performer in the bars, cafés, and festivals of eastern Ontario and New Brunswick, playing a variety of traditional folk songs and classic rock. He also plays a wide range of instruments, including: guitar, mandolin, hand drums, harmonica, glockenspiel, etc. In recent years, he has turned his attention increasingly to original songwriting, never forgetting the lessons learned from playing the great songs of the Celtic and classic-rock traditions. He’s committed to a life of learning in music, and to sharing the best of what he’s learned with his audiences. For Jesse, authenticity begins by believing the emotion of a song himself, and audiences respond to that honesty. His lyrics are smart, but his delivery is heartfelt. Shift is Ferguson’s third solo album and his first containing all original songs. Jesse is composer of all songs, with the exception of “La Belle Dame sans Merci,” which is an original setting of John Keats’ 1819 poem of the same title. Jesse also performed all vocals, harmonies and instruments both real and virtual on the CD, with the exception of a few helpers who lent their voices to the swarm in “Zombie Love." The real instruments include: acoustic guitar, mandolin, harmonica, djembe (drum), pennywhistle, Jew’s harp, glockenspiel, tambourine, shaker, and sandpaper block. Jesse recorded, produced and mastered the CD, and he also designed the album covers.
