Written and recorded in April of 2016, Thanks for Everything, Thanks for Nothing, is a feverish time-capsule, a month-in-the-life if you will. I was writing a lot during this period, songs about relationships, love, longing, whatever was on my mind. There was a desperation in getting the songs from my mind onto a recording, and, because of that I think, there is a certain unity to this group of songs. The process was simple: write and record guitar and vocal framework, go about the additional instrumentation, next song. Sometimes the rest of the song would be uncovered the same day, sometimes a day or two later. I say uncovered because it was like the rest of the song was already there, I just had to listen for and uncover it the right way. This went on for about 5 weeks and the result is the 9 song album, Thanks for Everything, Thanks for Nothing. Special thanks to Katie Kadan for providing backing vocals for the song, Here Again.
