We have here a 2nd glorious volume of the best of ROBERT HAIMER'S unique style of pop music. These songs were recorded between 1974 and 1990. Some in a professional studio, most in Robert's own home studio. Robert's career was somewhat sidetracked by the success of his quirky music duo BARNES & BARNES (with partner and pal BILL MUMY), but this type of music is what Robert had in mind when he started writing songs around 1968. Robert is possibly pop music's best kept secret. But finally, Robert has decided to release EVERY song he ever wrote and recorded! Yes, everything was transferred to the digital medium to be preserved for eternity. Warts and all. He is not ashamed. 2 of these tracks were co-written with Bill Mumy (Don't Worry & Magical Madness) and Mumy plays guitar, bass and keyboards on a few songs, and sings on some choruses also on a good amount of these melodic numbers. Robert needed perhaps a music producer, record label, and publishing company to get behind him and smooth out the rough edges, and he could have been a legitimate pop star. But alas, that did not happen. It's an almost impossible task to make happen, as anyone in the music business already knows. But that's possibly all it would have taken for some of these songs to have become hits for Robert or perhaps even other artists. At least they can now be heard. This is a nice companion disc to THE ESSENTIAL ROBERT HAIMER VOLUME 1, which was released many years ago. Grab it fans, who are both BARNES & BARNES lovers and those who are Robert-curious...... These songs just may stick in your head, kind of like....... FISH HEADS does!
