This is Sam Arnold's second solo album, reprising a similar cast of contributors and styles of "Thousands of Homeless Termites" (2007), but with slightly more eclectic classic-pop yoeman songwriter sensibility woven into the reflective and quirky prog-rock fabric. It is the first of a 4-part series of albums. The majority of the songs were written in one month - January 2009. Inspired by the quirky intellectual Americana of Frank Black, Neko Case, Wilco, Jimmy Webb, and Michael Nesmith with production influences from David Bowie, of Montrea, Sam Arnold brings quirky alt-rock to the table and knocks the table over with sincere tender instability and impossibly disgusting grace. Sam Arnold is the Guitarist for Austin Texas bands Opposite Day, Sweetmeat and Sarah Sharp, and the bass player of Lick Lick.
