What began as a senior project for her songwriting music degree at Belmont University, this album by 21-year-old Hannah Rand is a fresh, thoughtful, emotionally moving new take on 6 songs from master songwriters Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles, Norah Jones and Adele, and 6 originals based on what Hannah learned from each of them. Inspired by what Tom Waits suggested all great songwriters do: “…learn by listening to tunes…try to understand them and take them apart and see what they're made of...” Hannah has crafted a collection that honors these songs she admires, while transforming what she’s discovered in them into something quite stunning, original and compelling.
