Founded in late 2011, Urban Legends are a rock/pop/black/doom/sludge/hardcore/folk band. This, their second E.P. "Strange Footprints in the Pine Barrens..." was released in September 2014 and was supported with a number of full band shows as well as acoustic performances. This release was accompanied by artwork by a collective of Venezuelan artists (including Andrea Ho Posani and Omar Lamuno among others) who were living in Dublin, Ireland at the time. The first song on this mini-album was written for another album "Cryptozoology" but the sound it evoked and the tales it inspired led to the creation of this sonic trilogy. The 3 songs were recorded in a variety of living rooms and rehearsal studios over the summer of 2014. The band like to describe the trilogy as an "audio movie" and encourage listeners to immerse themselves in the soundscape and feel the terror of pursuit. The band are currently working in different guises and have been known to perform and record under a variety of different names and across multiple genres. Forthcoming works include a full-length album by ageing punk rockers, Pisswater, an E.P. by country troubadour Hopeless Drug Fiends, a high-octane metal opera called Creep City by Insect Eyes and the 32s, a doom/sludge album from Lake of Witches and a re-issue of the lost/forgotten album The Dreaded Sacred Dirt.
