简介
This album was the debut of Sean Casey, formerly from the Boston area, who is now living in Northern Vermont and is currently working on a new studio album with his band the Eloise McDaniel Consortium. The album explores themes of loss, resilience and, ultimately, acceptance of the need to "take your losses and take your place", as the title track puts it. The album's emotional core centers on the emotions surrounding the 1990 loss of Sean's best friend in a tragic car accident, which occured on the way to a concert Sean was asked to attend. The album explored more unfinished business, as the death of his friend demanded a reckoning with the loss of Sean's two brothers in 1985 & 1987. The ultimate message is to take stock, but to free yourself and commit yourself to ascend. The album was produced by Alex Rodriguez, formerly of a very successful Massachusetts band The Memos. The album was complimented by John Zannini on keyboards, who passed away after the album's release, and Dana Robinson on mandolin & violin. Dana now lives in the Western United States and continues to produce music resonating with the heritage of early American folk music. The band was rounded out by the sensational Mike Mears on drums, accomplished Jazz Vocalist Sandi Bedrosian and then-newcomer Natalie Blais. The Age of Ascencion captures not only a moment in time, but also a celebration of the survival of the human spirit. As the liner notes proclaimed for the album's final, avant-garde instrumental reprise: "Everybody Samba!!"
