简介
New Religion started on the east coast of America in the 90's. Their great songs and strong live show- considered by many as "the best show around" helped win millions of fans worldwide. They have worked and played for the elite; Presidents, Movie Stars, Superstar Musicians, and Athletes. New Religion released many albums along the way scoring top 10 hits in Asia before morphing into the even more successful BLISS. The line-up featured here is: Scott McGinley (Bliss, Pop Is Art, The Insiders) on vocals, guitar, and keys; Tim Houseman on keys, and vocals; Bobby D'uAime on drums; Mickey D on raps and percussion; Shawn C on vocals and percussion; Mario Rivera (and before him-Eric Azvolinski) on guitars and vocals; and Lenny Barber (with Nick Renzi before him) on bass. After establishing themselves as a formidable, funky live act, and having some label (Roberta Flack) and management (Kiss' manager Bill Aucoin) interest , they decided to follow manager Jeff Deutch's idea and pack their bags for an indefinite stay in Asia. These songs have been released in different forms both in Asia and in the US, but this is the 1st time they are available together in this form (with some unreleased tracks and demos). These songs are all in a funky rock genre oscillating between classic funk and ballads and a new rocked up hybrid. This cd is full of great tracks from the hard rocking "Time is Now" , "Sanctuary", and, "ImSoIn2U", to the motown sound of " Can't Help Loving You" and "I Do U" to the Prince infused jazz funk of "Last Song" "All My Loving" and "Work 4 Love." Later, New Religion's sound would turn more towards power pop.
