简介
"Rescue Me" is Tom Willner’s much anticipated solo CD after his critically acclaimed work with band Screen Door. Classically trained on piano and organ, and winner of multiple competitions for performance and improvisation, his keyboard skills are matched only by his passionate vocals and effortless harmonies. His lyrics examine daily life experiences against a backdrop of love, war, and politics. Eight years ago, Willner was diagnosed with cancer, and after a year long battle, he emerged a survivor with a new lease on life. This experience inspired his first solo CD called “Turning Thirty,” which has sales and fans worldwide. Willner’s most recent album, “Greener” with band “Screen Door” was hailed by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as having “an inescapable resemblance to some of James Taylor’s best work, displaying the same sprightly mix of sweetness, smarts and irresistible melodic hooks.” Now back on his own, Willner says of his new CD, “This collection of songs represents the last several years of my daily life – including cancer, a growing family, and a changing country. For me, it wraps my emotional peaks and valleys from these years into one small CD.” Legendary award-winning mastering engineer Earle Holder, known for his work with Public Enemy and numerous projects with other Platinum artists, says “Tom’s diverse stylistic talents truly shine on this album. The industry needs more music like his.” Tom has performed for popular Atlanta radio stations 99x (WNNX) and Album 88 (WRAS), has appeared on television on TBS Superstation’s Interact Atlanta, and performed for a crowd of thousands on the Mall in Washington, DC in front of the U.S. Capitol.
