Musically Socialite is a little tip to the hat to Surf Rock blended with Garage Rock. Lyrically the song tends more towards punk. The song has quite an uptempo high energy feel, fueled by the artist's annoyance over modern society's shallowness. It seems all we get to see on the www and tv are hyped media messages, news that is objective nor accurate, populist politicians with serious psychiatric disorders, socialites acting silly and promoting an image of women that is just plain ridicilulous and on top of that music television today deals mainly with the lives and loves of pregnant teens. Is that what we have evolved to as a species?
