The first EP for 15 year old Anna Oliphant Wright from Ballarat, Australia. Her songs 'Home Away From Home' and 'Bring the Winter’ were played on ABC radio and listeners have been contacting Anna wanting copies of her song. Anna discovered her love for singing and song writing in Darwin where as a primary school student she sang as a solo singer at festivals, parliament house, opening the National Rodeo and markets. She was a member of the quantas choir and as a year five she was awarded the highest music award for her school, as voted by the music community, across all year levels. In Ballarat, as a year nine, she sings for the school band "the sultans of swing" and has started sing at "Suttons House of Music", in June 2015 she will be singing at Etihad Stadium as part of a fund raiser dinner for cancer research where there will be over 500 people in attendance at this black tie event. She was invited to sing at this event after the chair of the event organising committee heard her interview on ABC 891. The songs in the EP were written to express her feelings during specific emotional times in Anna's life. 'Home Away From Home" is a song about how a long term friendship changed over time, originally these two friends treated each others homes as their homes away from home but as they grew up the friendship has changed and become more distant. "Bring the winter" is a song about an argument and conflict between teenagers. "Heatbeat" is a song about having to present several faces to the world where none of them are authentic. "Dying Stars" this is the first song Anna wrote as a 13 years old in response to witnessing bullying in the school environment. Whilst Dying Stars is noticeably simpler acoustically than the other songs it addresses the complex and challenging topic of bullying and the decisions we all make to passively accept it or to intervene and make a difference. Anna has written several songs since these were recorded and these will be recorded and released in the near future. Anna hopes you enjoy these songs as much as she did recording them.
