简介
Almost a year ago, on August 13 of 2017, I was teaching an adult Sunday School class and had the terrifying experience of going into a full ventricular fibrillation. Thanks to some good friends who were nearby and skilled paramedics, who performed CPR on me and administered a defibrillator, I survived. I will be forever grateful for their heroic efforts in my behalf. A week later I returned home from the hospital and while recovering, my mind was filled with many thoughts of gratitude for a second chance at life. I thought of my family, friends and things that I had left undone. One of those "things" was my music. I am a songwriter. It has been said, "Don't die with the music still in you". I realize now, that I almost did. In the mid 90's I was very active in promoting my music. I won three regional songwriting contests, made two trips to Nashville and scored a number 1 on the independent music charts with a song I wrote called 'Box of Memories'. I release two full length albums and performed constantly in local venues but then I guess for a number of reasons it all started to fade. In the years following that flurry of activity I would continue to write songs but as I grew older, fear set in. Though I wanted to share my new music with others, I could never get the courage to do it. Until of course, I nearly passed from this existence. So with the help of my good friend Scott Stevens, we finished off a studio in my basement, turned to family and friends to help choose the songs, and began the long and tedious task of recording and mixing. I am passionate about the songs I write and am so grateful to be able to share them now in this album 'Back to You'. The song 'Back to You' is the story of my musical journey and the album is filled with confessional songs of my own thoughts and experiences as well as songs about others I have met and things I have felt through their experiences. I am always writing and look forward to improving as a songwriter, and continuing the process of making albums for many years to come. Thanks for your interest!
