With the prevailing economic doom and gloom of recent times, this album proclaims that some laughs and a dose of dippedy-doo-dah are in order. This whole CD started out as a single song. Dinkin’ is in Robert Alaniz’s comedy movie D.I.N.K.s – whose artwork is on the cover. Many thanks and a nod to Robert for (musically) having me in a 3rd movie of his and for prodding to have something ready for the movie’s Chicago premier. So I first thought of selling Dinkin’ as a single and then came to realize I’ve done my share of light-hearted/humorous/comedic tunes – why not get them out as a package? Ergo Winkin’ Dinkin’ & Nod – offered up to you on a platter with a smile, It seems like every song is following a different musical muse - and the muse be smilin'. The topics cover many experiences we can all relate to - from the updating of Steve Goodman's Lincoln Park Pirates to losing your job and living in a van down by the river to the full out bagpipe soaked attack of I Wanna Be Sedated. Speaking of bagpipes, Pipes Pipes Baby is a fitting follow up to alter ego Piper Johnny's beloved Piper's Rap. If winter's ever gotten to you, you'll appreciate Warm and Soon (check it on YouTube).
