简介
Pop Singer, Violinist and Songwriter Sophie Serafino has performed all over the globe. Born in London, United Kingdom and raised in Sydney, Australia, Sophie has given more than 500 solo performances around the globe. Sophie’s travel to distant locations for performances in cities in the middle east and Europe drew her into the world of theatrical performances, dance, pop, middle eastern and modern classical music. The Gold Violin EP and Show was launched at Sydney Opera House in 2011 and in the same year, Sophie relocated to Alberta Canada. Since then, Sophie has performed with members of the Canadian Tenors, Chantal Kreviazuk, Juno award winner Jarvis Church (Philosopher Kings), Juno award winner Keshia Chante, Dan Hill, Mark Masri, and Juno-Award winning guitarists Pavlo & Oscar Lopez. Sophie spent most of 2013 writing and recording two new albums. The two albums, an instrumental entitled Temptress and a vocal album entitled Touch include co-writes with Canadian writers including Grammy & Juno Award winner Dan Hill, Amy Sky and Pavlo among others. The instrumental was co-produced by Pavlo and Rob Wells, and the vocal album by Rob Wells. Both are set to be released in 2014. A permanent resident of Canada since 2012, Sophie was White Hatted by Calgary Stampede on stage at the Jack Singer Concert Hall Calgary in April 2013, and received The Women of Vision Award from Global Television Edmonton Canada in 2014. Sophie creates Dramatic Pop, Orchestral Pop mixed with middle eastern and world sounds on many of her instrumentals many of which illustrate her travels. According to Sophie, "I love to perform. I love to share the feeling of elation I get, and the memories and stories behind each piece of music with you. Music lifts me up. It gives me hope and a life in me that I want to share. Music is my greatest form of expression and I believe in thinking differently. I believe in telling my story and performing with every inspiration that I have, rather than thinking about what I should be. I just happen to play the violin...and sing, dance and whatever else I feel like doing on stage."
