New Lovers are based out of Bondi in Sydney. They play a unique type of post punk, derived from crappy inner city pubs and the wide open Australian landscape in the vein of other Australian bands like The Triffids, The Birthday Party + Nick Cave. It started in a run down share house in Bondi making noise to the early hours of the morning. Bondi is a little run over now by Mercedes cars and fake tits, it used to be called scum valley, In a way we carry that tradition. New Lovers expresses that isolation you only get from living on the other side of the world, no matter how connected we think we are.
