The E-Street of Cleveland street: Hypnotic, repetitive, repetitive, repetitive in the positive, Krautrock-infused, duelling reverb guitars, snap drumming, dancing expansive across The Endless Sydney Sea, – King Iggy goes Pop in tow, like me and you, just another Passenger – Velvet Underground Lovers on speed, downers, pure Joy Division in their menacing tight veins under the Marquee Moon of a flickering Television. Note to reader: Joy Division is not an 80’s death cult cum omnipresent T-shirt with wiggly lines but a band so damn good you’d gouge your eyes out for an extra set of ears and a cold longneck. I mentioned that there may be this kind of confusion earlier. It’s Ok, I’ll hold your hand right to the top. It’s a coincidence because, Chained to Mary and Jesus, that’s where the New Lovers are going. Up there, into outer space, inner space, office space, crawl space. Get on in for the anti-lockout, we’re in love and on fire – literally, flames and all, mate. I’m like the guy on the cover of that sh*t Pink Floyd album – big win. It’s as simple as what the Nick ‘The Cave’ Vicious demands in their latest stellar cut, Fatal Shore, “why don’t you get it together?”
