简介
The Long Fall, Barrett Anderson's second album, finds the Boston-based singer/guitarist accompanied by blues legends RON LEVY (organist for Albert King, BB King, Roomful of Blues, and more), and PER HANSON (internationally acclaimed drummer for Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters); cruising through a collection of original "hypno-boogie-blues grooves," on a session produced by Cambridge roots rock hero DENNIS BRENNAN. Barrett, a 15 year veteran of Boston's blues scene, has been a member of both Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters and The Monster Mike Welch Band, paid his dues busking in Harvard Square, spent time in North Mississippi backing up hill-country bluesman T-Model Ford, recorded his first album, 2007's All the Way Down in Como MS (Produced by Jimbo Mathus), and has spent the last six years performing throughout New England to rave reviews with the allstar organ trio lineup featured on The Long Fall. Originality, strong songwriting, and backbeat heavy, danceable grooves are at the core of what Barrett does, and The Long Fall captures that in spades. Notable tracks include: Not Your Baby - a slinky, R&B influenced tale of late night encounters; Emma Lee - a swampy, sexy homage, and I Shall Not Be Moved - the gospel/civil rights classic which finds Barrett joined by his sister in a vocal duet, augmented by a fiery Ron Levy performance. "He may have shared the stage with great bluesmen, but when fronting his own band and playing his own music he is his own man." -Georgetown Fats, editor, Boston Blues Society "Tomorrow Morning and Emma Lee, from the new CD, really set me and the crowd on fire. This is cool music from a great band." -AJ Wachtell, The Noise Magazine "Barrett Anderson's roots explorations are full of true to the heart playing." -Ted Drozdowski, music critic. - See more at: http://www.barrettanderson.net/tlf#sthash.7sSBhBlG.dpuf
