简介

"This is the tale of Jack Corbin. Few called him a master, too many called him a thief and yet he was undoubtedly the best grave robber in the country...." Third release of “The Victim’s Ball’s”, "Memoirs of a Resurrectionist". "Memoirs of a Resurrectionist" has been skillfully constructed as a theme album. A sort of Gothic play, which gradually evolves between two acts, through a balanced mix of songs and dramatic narrative by actor Tim Harris. The story is set in London at beginning of the 19th century and revolves around a fictional character, Jack Corben, a Resurrectionist. Jack Corben born and bred in slums, grows up as an orphan in the Dickensian streets of London. At the age of seventeen Jack ventures into the turbid and lucrative world of body snatching. Gifted by a cunning and meticulous mind, Jack quickly makes his way up to the top of the food chain by selling fresh corpses to medical students and hospitals in the English capital. However, as the story unfolds, fate dictates, that for the love of a woman called Molly, Jack decides to cross the already barely legal boundaries of his trade by committing murder. Jack kills Molly’s husband, then tries to dispose of the body by selling it. Caught and imprisoned, for his crime, Jack is sentenced to capital punishment. The tale ironically culminates with the body snatcher’s death by hanging and finally with his own dissection. With a strong theme binding the tracks and a balanced approach to early music instrumentation such as Hurdy Gurdy, Mandolin and Hammered Dulcimer, "Memoirs of a Resurrectionist" is an interesting diversion for those beginning to tire of the plethora of dark electronic acts. This album will appeal to anyone with an interest in gothic storytelling and neo-classical sound. "Memoirs of a Resurrectionist" is released on COLOR VINYL, PLUS an inserted MUSIC CD and POSTER in the sleeve.
