简介
The EP begins with a 'Black-eyed peas' inspired track that is somewhat like the subject 'Where is the love'. Beginning with a sad story of an artist and their struggle with failure, then gradually becoming more uplifting by the second verse as the singer almost raps with a new energy, by the end of the song a new sense of hope and inspiration flows. Moving into 'Shoulder', this track is a story of friendship through the hard times, a straight up R&B track, it has a warmth and depth to it somewhat compared to Jojo. Mamma's coming home is the 3rd track on this EP and a QMUSIC songwriting award finalist in 2016. During 2014 Candice featured on 'The Voice' Australia where she was away from her children following her dreams determined to be a demonstration of commitment and success to her family and that is where the story for this Power Ballad comes from which is somewhat compared to the style of Whitney Houston. The fourth track on this EP 'Rain', is yet another relatable story about the need for a simple love and support in a relationship that has become a one way street as she sings 'I just want someone to watch the rain pouring down with me'. The final and most soul grabbing, heartbreaking track on this EP is 'Counting Down'. This is the true story of her father who was terminally ill with Cancer during the time she wrote this song and who passed away days after she released this EP independently under her Gold Coast company Pentagon Music Group. It takes the listener on a journey from the perspective of the terminally ill. This track is a very stripped back acoustic power ballad heavily inspired by Celine Dion.
