An artist under In Season Music Group, LLC (Silver Spring, MD), Derek is a young, committed, dynamic, and sincere singer who's ministry will take the world by storm. Growing up a "Preacher's Kid" in Portsmouth, VA, Derek began singing in his father's church at the early age of three. His vocal gifts blossomed as he matured, and thirty years later has shared the stage with renowned gospel artists such as Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurken, james Hall, LaShun Pace Rhodes, Jonathan Nelson, Detrick Haddon, and Earl Bynum. Derek has been deeply inspired by gospel diva Kim Burrell, Isaac Caree, and Fred Hammond. He seeks to inspire others as these artists have inspired him. Derek's debut album "A Higher Place," released in 2002, revealed the influence of Derek's vocal mentors as well as the essence of Derek's own style. His latest project (2011) entitled "Relationship" demonstrates Derek's musical and spiritual maturity as an artist and minister of the gospel.
