The rapper portrays a person with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) -- having multiple alter egos. He wears masks and straightjackets in his videos. Consequently, he has earned the name "Moun Fou" (Lunatic). The rapper is also the first to have a Creole rap album on Pandora.

Young Slay is also active in the Haitian community. He is a strong advocate for education and youth empowerment.
