Jason Durrant, a resident of Bloomfield, CT began studying and playing the piano at the age of 9; receiving lessons at the Artist Collective located in Hartford, CT. During the span of 2 to 3 years Durrant was able to learn the basic theories within the genre of classical and jazz. Eventually, he held off playing the piano on a regular basis until he was re-introduced to the piano by pianist, Jim Brickman, at a local PBS T.V station in CT. Immediately, Durrant was drawn in by Brickman's playing because it intensified romance, love and peace; not quite classical and not quite new age, it had a sound of its own: Durrant was now in search of a sound! Jason Durrant recalled discovering the sound of romance and sensuality through smooth saxophonist, Kenny G and romantic pianist, Jim Brickman. These artists and more have introduced young Durrant to a music of peace, love and harmony. On November 19, 2015, Durrant released his sophomore album "Harmony Of Love" and amongst it, he was strongly encouraged to release "Smooth Sailing" as a single. Durrant (known as being very open-minded) pursued the idea and on April 21, 2016; Durrant proudly released 'Smooth Sailing' as his first single. Written by Jason Durrant, 'Smooth Sailing' is reminiscent of peaceful bliss. A soothing instrumental that drifts you away into a different place and time; with a catchy hook and a smooth cruising vibe, it is sure to set your mind at sail.
