HEDRICK is a group led by musician-songwriter David Hedrick, accompanied by wife Ella Hedrick. The group was formerly based in North Carolina and their music exhibits the raw, sometimes poignant influences of their roots. David loves to move from rock to bluegrass to blues to gospel and makes friends with any instrument that comes to hand, sometimes creating his own. Ella handles the group's business, sings occasional harmonies, and plays the bass guitar and nyckelharpa. Now they're based in Seattle, Washington, "the Great Northwest", and David continues to write music that speaks of life: the relationships, the hardships, the joys. His songs might bring about tears of empathy or the wide smiles of whimsy. "Why Don't You Know" is the group's second album, released just 15 months after the first: "An Undeniable Noise", and consists of acoustic-based songs with the occasional electric instrument addition, full of texture.
