Jacobed Melgarejo, known more by her first name, is a young lady of 25 years of age that has a calling for the youth of her generation. Born in Chiclayo, Peru in a family of missionary/pastors, she traveled to the state of California at the age of 5- where she resides to this day. Drawn to singing and the arts, Jacobed grew up full of hopes and dreams that she did not know how or why to develop. It was not until the age of 17, after having an experience with God, that brought her to give her heart and life to Jesus and to respond to the call of youth ministry. It was at this time that she understood that what she had in her heart, was something given by God for his glory. In the development of an intimate relationship with God she discovered the talent to write songs. Jacobed chose to keep her birth name as her "stage name" because of the deep and prophetic meaning it has: " glory of God". In July7, 2009 Jacobed had her first concert in which she released her first Cd : "Breaking the Silence". The concert was held in Lima, Peru- the same country in which it was recorded. The Cd has 8 songs in spanish and 2 in English. Currently she is a youth leader in her parents church, Aristoteles and Flor Melgarejo. She also is sharing her gifts and talents in many other places and countries. There are plans to record Cd's with other local Christian singers and simultaneously finish writing songs of her own for her second Cd.
