简介

Kentucky-born songstress Brigid Kaelin is a musician’s musician. One day you’ll find her singing original alt-country-cabaret tunes in a pub in the Scottish countryside, and the next day you’ll find her playing musical saw for Elvis Costello. (Well, that’s happened at least thrice.) She’s equally at ease as a keyboardist in a rock band as she is a yodeling lead singer on “A Prairie Home Companion.” When she’s not on stage, she writes the popular blog “The Red Accordion Diaries,” about everything from tours, traveling, and her newest endeavor: motherhood. Brigid plays accordion, piano, musical saw, guitar, ukulele and various other things with strings. She lives in Louisville, Kentucky, with her Texan husband and her Scottish son. She adores the metric system and the NHS, and she’ll do pretty much anything for a transatlantic flight. "Hugely talented." -Maverick Magazine "A wonderful singer." -Garrison Keillor “After Elvis Costello and Jim James dueted on the Velvet Underground’s “Femme Fatale” and Sam Cooke’s “Bring it On Home to Me,” all three ripped through a rollicking version of Dylan’s “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere,” with Brigid Kaelin dropping a fine musical saw solo.” -Jeffrey Lee Puckett, The Courier Journal “Brigid Kaelin opened Tuesday night for Nellie McKay at Headliner’s Music Hall, and you would be hard pressed to find two musicians who bring quite as much personal charm, humor, and unique character to the stage.” -Louisville.com “Kaelin has perfected her own little sassy style of music with lots of little red-head boozy lyrics. You just can’t help not wonder what she will sing or play next.” -Louisville.com ““Ms. Kaelin is a hidden treasure of American(a) performance and songwriting. It is impossible to listen without smiling.”” – WNTI, New Jersey “Brigid Kaelin brings a new meaning to the word entertainment. She is talented but also a little bit silly and brings this silly feeling to her audience. She leaves you with a real feelgood feeling and definately wanting more. Can’t wait till she comes back to Leith!” -Leith Folk Club, Edinburgh, Scotland “Her songwriting style, peppered with witty wordcraft, ranges widely across Americana territory ..her bright, elastic voice, between liquid and velvety in timbre, was both attractive and technically versatile..” -Sue Wilson – The Scotsman “Kaelin was able to show a certain versatility as both singer-songwriter and accompanist on guitar, keyboard, accordion and musical saw.” -Herald Scotland
