简介
Mary Davis is a familiar face and voice in the new singer/songwriter Mecca of Asheville, NC. She has produced five albums of original compositions over the past 22 years. The three still available on CD are Take Me Up, Celebrate You, and her recent release, Life Moves. Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Mary is well known and loved locally and internationally for her spiritually oriented and emotionally authentic lyrics and the pure, bell-like clarity of her voice. Mary’s travels have included an appearance at the International Peace Conference in San Francisco in 1986, an international tour through Greece and Germany in 1995, and a performance at the “Time For Our Power” Women’s Conference in Asheville, NC in 2008. In 1985 she was invited to Costa Rica to contribute one of her songs to an international compilation entitled Jewel of the Lotus, produced by Jimmy Seals. Other compilations she appears on include Here We Are and “The Road to Paradise”, both collections of songs by regional singer/songwriters. Mary has been described as a “gifted songwriter with a rare talent”, and her voice “one of the most purely melodic voices in existence today” that “speaks the language of the soul” by such renowned musicians as the late country recording artist, Dan Seals; Jazz musician, Marvin "Doc" Holladay; and Disney recorded, "Parents Choice" favorite, Red Grammer. Her most recent production, Life Moves has inspired the following responses: “On Mary’s long-awaited new release, Life Moves, she invites us into the struggles of her own journey. Her writing is intensely personal and candid, and her music is a generous gift.” - David LaMotte, singer/songwriter “Mary Davis’ mouth open in song summons the soul and shakes the listener awake pointing us toward our greatest teacher, Mother Earth. Her voice whether a Zephyr wind or a quiet ripple is a natural force that alters both the external and the internal landscape. This newest musical creation demonstrates how Life Moves while moving us-deeper shape-shifted and transformed.” - Glenis Redmond, performance poet “There’s a clarity and purity in both Mary Davis’ voice and music that is quite simply mesmerizing. She is all at once a singer, writer, musician, and healer.” - Christine Kane, singer/songwriter
