Shyan has been studying and performing Indian Classical music on the Bansuri (North Indian flute) since 1996. He has been a student of the renowned Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia for most of this time. He has performed all around the world with some of today's most distinguished artists of music and dance both within and outside of the realms of the Indian Classical genre.

His two recent albums have just recently come into fruition in September 2013. Based on the Indian Classical Ragas the tracks in these albums 'Radiant Awakening' and 'The Joyous Encounter' demonstrate his dedicated love for, what has been agreed upon by so many to be the most beautiful sounding instrument, the Bansuri flute. It's tonal qualities together with the airy effect of the breath awards it the reputation for hypnotically drawing the listener into an intoxicated state of ecstasy and serene meditative bliss.
