简介
The band RUDE AWAKENING originated in Richmond, Virginia at the height of the art-rock music scene in 1984-85 (the same scene that spawned GWAR, Alter-Natives, The Good Guys and many, many others). There were many members of the band in the beginning, ultimately becoming a solid line-up which toured Virginia and the East Coast through 1988 when they re-located to Hollywood, California. Their debut opus "An Act Of God", was named so due to a comment the owner of Wally Cleaver's Recording Studio in Fredericksburg, Virginia made when told of the band's plan to record the entire album in one ten hour block. "That will be an act of God", was the quote. And so it was written, and so it was achieved that lo and behold, the band DID record the entire record that day, thus receiving the title it so richly deserved. The band consisted of Robert Ryder on bass guitar, Joey Ballard on drums, Tony Taylor on vocals and acoustic guitar, Dan Ruth on vocals, and Roy Shneider on lead/rhythm guitar. This CD contains five songs that were not included on the original release which came out in 1986 and was distributed only on cassette. These are the first re-mastered, re-released versions of these songs and they sound better than ever. This is a truly timeless band with some very cool beginnings. Some of these songs were re-recorded later by Rude Awakening on their other releases.
