Buffington a.k.a Maceo Blue is an American R&B/Hip-Hop artist. He is the son of a Nicaraguan born mother and an African American father. His music is not typical of contemporary Hip-Hop and R&B music in the sense that the intent is not to be “street”, or unnecessarily explicit. In many ways it’s a perfect combination of the more sophisticated writing styles of the 70’s and 80’s and contemporary music production. The end result is an interesting blend of the R&B and Hip-Hop genres. He is a true artist in the sense that he allows himself to be vulnerable in his writing almost always wearing his heart on his sleeve. His songs are more often than not Love letters highlighting the ups and downs of a vagabond lover seeking a safe place to keep his heart.
