简介
Chimney Choir mixes old time acoustic instruments with droning synths, samples, junk percussion and 3 part harmonies in a theatrical show. In 2012 they recorded their first album, (ladder), at a live performance inside of a small pipe organ chapel. The interludes between the songs are surreal collages made entirely out of banter with the audience and any found sound from the evening. "Enjoyable as set of delicate, well-crafted Americana pop songs or as an accessible, high-concept experimental album" (Westword). Since then they have toured across oceans and over mountains and under cities in search of their next album. They did not find the album. Instead they found themselves broke, hungry and dazed in a small town in North Germany. While sitting on the banks of the Rhein and wondering what they would do next, an old map floated to shore. It led them to a small Denver art gallery where the album would surely be found. (compass) was released through a series of four monthly thematic performances in Denver - each representing a different cardinal direction. In March they looked West, in April they looked South, In May they looked North, in June they looked East - they saw shadow puppets, confetti meteor showers, a cheesy 70s game show, held a seance, got dosed with an aphrodisiac love potion and were reborn in the Nother World. The series culminated at an Eron Johnson's Antique Warehouse on June 23, 2013 during an electrical storm under the supermoon. It was right there all along The compass Has been found
