简介
I started out as a guitar player, but after hearing ukulele legend Jake Shimabukuro playing his phenomenal cover of George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", I fell in love with the little ukulele. It really is hard to be anything but happy when playing the ukulele, and I find myself picking it up first thing in the morning and grabbing it again as soon as I get home. Actually, I usually take it with me everywhere I go. Early on, I mostly put together cover arrangements of my favorite rock and pop songs, and I still love to play those, but over the last couple of years, whenever I sit down with my uke and start playing, I find new sounds. Sometimes I follow those sounds on a journey, and at the end of it, I find I've got a new song. This album, "Making Summer Memories", is a collection of some my favorites from the songs I've written in the last couple of years--and a couple that I wrote when I was 10. These songs represent a mixture of emotions for me. Many are bright and happy, the kind of song that puts a bounce in my step. A couple of them are slower, more thoughtful. In one I tried to capture my emotions from being stuck in a big thunderstorm. Mostly, though, these are songs that, for me at least, capture what it feels like to enjoy life by just sitting back, relaxing, and playing the ukulele. I hope the music on this album brings a smile to your face and a little extra joy to your life--just as it always does for me!
