At age 23, Laura Curtis from Sisters, Oregon carries on the tradition of emotive song writing rooted deeply in the folk, Americana music she grew up listening to. She has worked with and been mentored by women songwriters in the folk tradition, including Meg Hutchinson, Susan Werner and Ruthie Foster. After graduating from Willamette University with a degree in Politics and Women and Gender Studies, Laura went to work for the Oregon State Legislature as the Chief of Staff to a sitting State Senator. After a brief stint in the world of politics she decided to change the path of her career from politics back to music. She moved to Nashville, TN after releasing her second recording project, a 6-song self titled EP.
