简介
Joi Veer's 1st CD entitled "ON" unveils a unique style of personal rock and pop tragedies. He has called upon select world-class musicians who make his songs their own in their unyielding performances. Never bound by formula, Joi Veer's style has exploded through his gravitation to the guitar as his main songwriting tool. His drumming background has given him a keen awareness of rhythm and percussion which bubbles beneath his signature vocals delivering waves of fluid melody, and fused with the ever-present rock electric and acoustic guitars. The human experience is Joi's most fascinating palette. The interaction and perspective of people are the substance of his lyrics which are woven through the fabric of infectious melodies. Whether a simple statement of emotion or a testimonial to his life experiences, the result is a brutally honest song written and delivered with conviction as an extension of himself. Joi constantly dares and re-defines his artistic license, and his songs are conceptually, lyrically and musically engaging in their dynamics. ON BY JOI VEER Look at what happened While we were walking in our sleep. Bumped into where our dreamworld used to be. Neither one of us had even noticed it was gone. I can't recall the plan We thought we could depend upon. ~Joi Veer Weehawken, New Jersey resident Joi Veer can flat out write music. One of the best singer/songwriters to appear on the indie scene in recent years, Veer has given his fans a plethora of select original rock songs compiled in his newly released CD, On. With songs written and performed in the style of top 40 rock, the musical style of Joi Veer will remind you of The Beatles and U2. However, there is not a hint of replication in the words, music or theme of these extremely well-written tunes. The themes of Veer's songs are those of the human experiences, many of which are soulful tales of despair and angst fired with churning emotion. This kind of songwriter doesn?t come along too often. Joi Veer On self-released Strong on influence from U2, Peter Gabriel, John Lennon, and Pearl Jam, this debut album features a great array of inspired songwriting that is extremely fluid. Gentle guitars and soft percussion rhythms bubble softly underneath Veer's flawless vocals that do nothing short of taking flight. The subjects of his music are human experience, which he uses to render emotional ballads of honesty and conviction. IMPACTpress.com THEGLOBALMUSE.COM Joi Veer presents a familiar style of pop/rock with a certain distinctiveness that is very refreshing. Joi's vocals give his music that distinctive quality that is very much enjoyable. The music is very well written, and contains attractive poppish hooks with a catchiness that many should fine very appealing. Much of the music on this album is radio friendly. Joi's approach to songwriting is one that keeps his music from being too complex, but contains enough substance to give the listener a reason to keep listening. Some may find it a little difficult to get use to the originality of Joi's vocals, but by the second or third song you'll be wondering where you heard this voice before. I'm still doing that. Joi's vocals give his music that special quality that makes this CD all the more worth while. This album is definitely a very good choice for those looking for pop with a different taste and something a little special. - Michael Allison - THEGLOBALMUSE.COM
