Firedaze are a 3 piece UK based band featuring Steff on vocals, guitar and foot percussion, Jen on fiddle and vocals and String on bass, vocals and percussion rhythms and loops - Triality(sqrd) is the remastered version of their debut album. R2 magazine (formerly Rock N Reel) said the album was a "blend of choppy bass-driven rockers, folk-style harmonies, bright, melodic fiddle and a New Wave rock edge." Folkwords said "Firedaze are not easy to forget, hear them once and that thumping throbbing drum sequence and bass drive, enriched with rocky folk-fiddle groove will stay in your head..." The songs on the album are designed to draw together the distinctive bass playing from String which helps to underpin the interweaving of voice, guitar and fiddle from Jen and Steff - all over a rhythm you can dance to. The songs are representative of some of the set of songs the band have been playing live over the last couple of years. It features a new recording of their traditional set closer Fighting For Strangers. This is a traditional English folk song that been given a new twist and some additional lyrics to connect a song from hundreds of years ago about fighting wars abroad with the wars of today.
