简介
Biography: David was born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, and grew up in a little town known as Love Virginia. At the age of 6 he arose one Sunday morning to discover one of his first Loves in life, as he began to play an old upright piano bought by his Father from the side of the road while on his way home one day. David had taken no lessons, but had watched as others would come by on Saturdays, and Sundays, and as his Mother would sit and play old Hymns on it. One Sunday at the age of 6 he just got up and sat down and started playing What a Friend we have in Jesus. From that morning on his Love for Music just kept growing. David now plays not only Piano, but also plays Guitar, Mandolin, Resophonic guitar (dobro), and banjo. David is quick to tell anyone that his gift of music comes from only one source, God. The gift of music has taken him down many musical paths, including, The Crestmen Quartet, Lew Dewitt (an original Statler Brother), Mark Patterson & Midnight Special, Various groups of his own, The Virginia Blend & Gospel Blend to name a few, and Phoenix Bluegrass Band. David has also been blessed with the gift of writing songs. While with Phoenix a lot of David’s original material was included on stage and on their recording projects. With a special thanks and Gratefulness to Eddie, Randy,& Jim of Phoenix, those songs have been put together in this downloadable collection as recorded by Phoenix. David has also had the Honor of some of his songs being recorded by other Bluegrass/Country Artists like, David Parmely and Continental Divide, Michael Cleveland &Flamekeeper, Barry Scott and Second Wind, Junior Sisk and Ramblers Choice, Shannon Slaughter, and The Legendary Ricky Skaggs and The Whites. David’s song “One seed of Love” was on Ricky Skaggs and The Whites “Salt of the Earth “ CD. It was a great honor to Have a song on a Cd that won a Grammy and Dove award, and sang by one of his Greatest musical hero’s.
