David Coffey was born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, and grew up in the little town of Love, Virginia. At the age of 6, he arose one Sunday morning to discover one of his first Loves in life, as he began to play an old upright piano bought by his Father from the side of the road while on his way home one day. David had taken no lessons, but had watched as others would come by on Saturdays, and Sundays, and as his Mother would sit and play old Hymns on it. One Sunday at the age of 6 he just got up and sat down and started playing What a Friend We Have In Jesus. From that morning on, his Love for music just kept growing. David now plays not only piano, but also plays guitar, mandolin, resophonic guitar (dobro), and banjo. David's new CD Someone Like Me, features new original Gospel songs, and features David playing all of the instruments.
