North Carolina's award winning acoustic blues artist, Peter May brings you a new collection of original blues, instrumental and gospel music. While caring for his ailing father, after his mother's passing, these gems popped up like wild flowers in the fields of their Yadkin County, NC homestead. Father, renowned pastor, Henry E May, Jr., laughed at some songs and critiqued others, (brutally!) May, who had "put down his music" for awhile, had recently purchased a used guitar form friend and producer "Jaybird" Johnson. Fueled by hours of playing this guitar, the song's came one by one. Johnson, had also recently purchased new recording equipment. The duo put it all together and started recording, "to save each other's sanity." Just in time (via Darrell Blackburn), a 1934 National Don resonator showed up, and was used to record, "In the Arms of Jesus" an ode to mother and Blind Willie Johnson. As Brother John, would say on some evening visits,"that's pretty good!" Hope you enjoy.
