简介
This is the fourth release from prolific multi-genre musical artist Asher Fulero under his electronic moniker, Halo Refuser (an anagram of his name) but the first full-length offering; a 10-track electronic master-class that incorporates giant whomping basslines, crushingly creative beatscapes, and deep layers of synthesizers both physical and virtual into a dark world of sonic escape and a journey for the mind through otherworldly realms unknown. Using an endless litany of production techniques ranging across the analog and digital realms, Ambigrammatic is wildly futuristic and uniquely genre-less as it references elements of Breaks, Dubstep, Downtempo, Drum-n-Bass, and more while retaining a singular voice. The album also features an appearance from the show-stopping drumming wizard behind UK live phenoms Pendulum, KJ Sawka, and a remix based on a track from well-respected producer (and fellow Portlander) The Great Mundane. The gorgeous cover art, created by Portland artist Deon Staffelbach, features the 'Ambigram' logo after which the album is titled; a typography trick where the letters of a word are formed so that, when flipped upside-down, they become readable as a word of their own. In this case the logo reads 'Halo Refuser' but when flipped upside-down it clearly reads 'Asher Fulero'. An Anangram AND an Ambigram.
