Gene Rodemich专辑介绍：by Scott YanowGene Rodemich led a dance band in the St. Louis area during 1918-1925. A classically trained pianist who in the late '20s worked in Hollywood writing soundtracks for early cartoons, Rodemich passed away from pneumonia in 1934 at the age of 44. All 17 of his 1922 recordings (including three alternate takes) are included on this privately issued collectors CD. Although there are liner notes, the personnel is largely unidentified. But since the music is mostly ensemble-oriented (and falls into dance music rather than jazz), it does not matter much. The songs are all period pieces and obscure (including a "Three Little Words" that has nothing to do with the slightly later standard) but can be enjoyed by fans of early '20s dance music. The same performances have also been issued on another CD from the same label with a current tuba player dubbed in since the brass bass is barely audible, but hearing the original un-tampered version is preferred.
