When he wasn't pounding the skins, patiently retrieving a groove from the recesses of a distant punk rock incarnation, Al Najarian had his fingers on the fades, slides and dials. He guided the ship with good humor and love, even when the weeks mysteriously turned into years. Effortlessly? Perhaps not, entirely. There may have been an argument or two in the air, now and again, but these intrusions were built upon previous cities where once-wild deer did tread, so we did not begrudge them for long. Meanwhile, Dan Sigward oversaw the children's' choirs and laid down both blues and laws when someone called for it (usually the neighbors who lived under the drum set).

Mostly we let it be what it was, so sometimes it's the same and sometimes it isn't, particularly considering that on certain days it was 106 degrees in the shade and the window had to be thrown wide open. Anyway, it all happened around the turn of the millennium, which is just about all I can guarantee in the end.
