Nick, Bruce and I started playing together in 2001 or thereabouts. We had played together in different church bands or at parties. We played our first gig at the Tavern Lounge, I think. One night playing at the Tavern Rob played percussion on the table, he was so good we added him to the group. After a couple years and a recording session Rob moved to Washington state. The Todd Thompson Band (or trio) has gone by many names. I usually booked the gig so we used my name. We never did decide on a ‘real’ name. We used a few though, most notable were the Dick Nixon Trio, Divison Street Trio, Ruffians, Pet Ducks and Tumbleweeds. On these recordings in addition to Nick, Bruce, Rob and myself, Wendy Nordquist and Dave Mavis sang on some of the tracks. Others who‘ve graciously played and sang with us live include Wendy Nordquist, Glenn Bourdot, Tim Goodwin, Dave Mavis, Craig Wasner, Aaron Anderson, Reid Fisher and Mark Fischer. I’d like to thank the Tavern Lounge and Hogan Brothers for all the gigs through the years. -- Todd Thompson
