简介
Australia’s Tim McMillan has been performing his unique brand of acoustic guitar based music for over a decade. With an original blend of guitar styles, Tim has performed both solo and with his band throughout Japan, India, Latin America and Europe - where he is currently based. In the past year he has performed alongside guitar legends Al Di Meola, Dominic Miller (Sting) and Kaki King, and has just recently received an endorsement from Cole Clark Guitars. Tim performs in a mixture of settings (from duo to quartet) with his regular team of musicians including Brad Lewis (bass/vocals), Manuel von Krosigk (e-guitar), Alex Bökelund (percussion) and Shisha PM (guitar/vocals). With previous awards for his solo guitar work, including Maton Young Guitarist of the Year and C.C & Ben Harper Guitar Awards, he now mixes his virtuosic guitar skills with a more subdued approach to performance, with stronger focus on songs and instrumental pieces for the band. The many influences in both Tim’s music and his performance style makes the band very accessible for a wide audience - performing at venues as diverse as Dresden’s Dreikönigs Church, Black Metal bonanzas in Northern Europe, the National Folk Festival in Australia and even the Tibetan Women’s Association in Northern India, Tim & co are becoming quite used to entertaining all kinds of audiences with their unique shows - sprinkled with humorous anecdotes from the bush, athletic guitar stunts and ethereal concept folk. His third studio album Angel (t3 records) features special guest musicians and collaborators including singer/songwriters Francesca Lago and Shisha PM, and chapman stick/bass guru Al Slavik (Alphaville, Adrian Belew). Keeping with the style of his previous releases, the lyrical content remains enigmatic and open to interpretation. The vocal work (often layered with three part harmonies) blends softly over the guitar driven music and the accompanying musicians provide an album rich with dynamics - ranging from acoustic hard rock and solo guitar to progressive chamber music alive with strings, flute and ukulele. ‘Some very beautiful and original guitar music’ – Jónsi, Sigur Rós ‘Great playing with really nice harmonies and an original style’ – Al Di Meola
