Alyssa Kay is 19 years old and currently lives in Lusaka, Zambia as a Christian music artist. She has been singing since she was a small child, singing in churches, schools or and any place that she could sing. She comes from a very musical family with a grandfather that is a very accomplished fiddler, receiving the National Endowment of Arts award. At age 4 she moved to Zambia with her parents who are serving as missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene. As she moved into her teenage years she began to sing more and more and even took some signing lessons. Then at age 14, she met one of the well-known gospel singers in Africa, Ephraim Son of Africa, who has many albums out and sings in many countries. He heard one of her original songs “Move me On” and had her featured on his 2013 album "Fixing My Eyes." From that she has been asked to sing more at churches and concerts with many asking when she was to release her own album. At age 16 God made it possible to begin recording a full 11 track album. 9 of the songs on the album are originals written by her family and two are hymns. It was released in July 2015. Chosen 2 Change is a follow up single to that album and was written and arranged to appeal to a wider youth audience in Africa and beyond.
