简介
Kapland is a half Basque-half British pop band. It was created by Alexandra Piñeiro-Tew and Koldo Uriarte. Some time after Willy Granados (guitar) and Iker Uriarte (Drums) joined the band. The project started because of their need to tell stories, all of them in English, mother tongue of the lead singer (Alex). They had no intention of being clasified in any particular style, but it is true that there are so many bands that have influenced Kapland. you will especially find they are close to what could be called British Pop Music. Koldo and Alex had previously worked in many tours with different national and international artists . It was working in one of those tours, back in 2008, when they met and found out that they had a very similar way of understanding music. Kapland was previously called Tew for 3 years, and started on a 13th of November... the same day they wrote the song "13th of November". From then, they started to write more and more songs in between the gaps their jobs allowed them. In 2010 they recorded their first demo album which they just handed over to friends and family. In 2011 they recorded their first EP, called Chapter One, with the unconditional help and generosity of Angel Celada (Drums), Joseba Irazoki (guitars) and Iñigo Goldaracena (Bass), as well as of Mikel F. Krutzaga (engineering, mixing and mastering). Chapter One was released on the 8th of May 2012, and contain 4 tracks which describe the firstt episode of Kapland´s story.
