Nick Masullo's new CD of his original songs features the members of Trout Fishing in America, Still on the Hill, Emily Kaitz, and Susan Shore. The project was produced by Emily Kaitz. Kaitz says, "There are times when Nick Masullo makes me think of three of my favorite singer-songwriters: John Gorka, Richard Shindell, and Michael Smith. It's not that he sounds like any of them...it's just that some of his songs are that good." Shore calls his songs, "intense, compelling." Nick won First Place at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival Songwriting Competition in 2003. He also won the Best Contemporary Folk Song at the Winfield Songwriting Showcase in 2002, a third place by the Austin Songwriting Association, Grand Prize at the Fall in the Ozarks Arkansas Acoustic Songwriting Festival in 2002, and was a finalist in the Ozark Music Awards for Best New Song and Songwriter of the Year for 2002. The CD is getting radio play on great community stations like KKFI in Kansas City.
