Pete Hartley is an in-demand virtuoso musician, performer, teacher, session player and recording artist with a professional career spanning over 30 years. Pete is an accomplished electric violinist and mandolin player, as well as an experienced producer, arranger and composer. Pete is based in the West Midlands UK but regularly plays and tours all over the world, playing for the likes of Rolls Royce, Park Lane Hotels and Marks and Spencer, weddings, dinners, and other formal events. Pete's playing has been enjoyed live by the likes of Bill Clinton, Bertie Ahern, Princess Anne and, in a personal career highlight for him, Joanna Lumley! Pete has nearly 30 years' experience as a session musician for TV and Radio, and has performed music for programmes as diverse as Top Gear, Pebble Mill, Not the Nine o'clock News and the Goodies, amongst many others. He was also a heat winner on the televised talent competition New Faces in 1987, successfully resisting the advances of Nina Mishkov! Pete has toured throughout the world with theatre productions and jazz ensembles as well as his own solo tours. Notably, he toured the UK with the theatre production “Blood Brothers”, playing to audiences of 500 per night for five months. Pete is endorsed by Violectra and plays a 6-string electric violin as his primary instrument, giving him a diverse sonic range and tonal versatility beyond that of similar instruments.
