简介
One of the best written polka albums to be released since the early Lil Wally days and one of the only concept polka albums to depict the life and times of it's composer/author...Written and sung from the heart by Nashville singer/songwriter Randy Albright and released on iKahn Records at iKahnRecords.com Though the artist/composer cannot read music and his musicianship is limited to the acoustic guitar only, every other instrument on every song, he plays free hand one note at a time on the Korg triton work station keyboard, lending an insight to his unorthodox ability and uniquely calibrated musical mind rarely present in other artist/composers where their recorded music is all played by a variety of master recording session musicians. This CD series is fast becoming the high standard in modern day recorded polka music and a must for any polka music fan. Adopted as an infant and raised by a Polish-American couple, polish music embedded itself in his youthful soul. Randy spent 28 years writting songs for legendary country acts like Vince Gill, Alabama, Diamond Rio, Nicolette Larson, Emmylou Harris, Ricky Skaggs, Kathy Mattea, Rhett Akins,Charley Pride, Tammy Wynette, Sons of The Desert and many many more. Returning to his roots on this solo performed album shows the versitility and musicianship of this veteran songwriter and singer. At the age of 8 he received his first guitar and learned to play chords and sing. At 9 years of age he had written his first song, all under the instruction of his adopted mother. With his newfound nationality Randy formed his own Polish orchestra while still in his teens. His public music career began in front of audiences of disabled veterans, nursing home residents, and wedding receptions with a vast repertoire of everything including Catholic Spirituals, Polkas, Rock-n-Roll, and Country. His major musical influence came from listening to his mothers many albums of legendary polka king Lil Wally Jagiello and his ONE favorite country LP of Hank William's Sr. "14 Greatest Hits." As he grew up playing polish music, he also learned to sing along with Hank Williams Sr. and his voice took a natural sound like that of his phonograph mentor. After high school and two years of working at a local grocery store saving his money, Randy knew he wanted to write songs for a living. He packed his things and moved to Nashville at the age of twenty. Once there, he auditioned for Opryland, and a year later Randy joined the cast of the Country Music U.S.A. Show where he imitated the legendary voice of none other than...Hank William's Sr. While developing his singing and stage skills and appearing on a number of TV shows, and well as over one hundred convention shows, Randy continued writing and pitching his songs on music row. He signed his first publishing contract in 1980 with Acuff/Rose, and has been continuously signed as a staff writer for various companies like Warner Bros. Music, Almo/Irving Music, 3 Sons Music, Warner/Chappell, Affiliated Publishers Inc and EMI Music. These writing deals have led to over 500 songs being written and over 100 songs being recorded by Nashville's major market recording artists. Randy signed a multi-album deal with iKahn Records and a management deal with iKahnNashville Entertainment Group . He still resides in White House Tennessee with his wife of three years and his sons. His other interests include Domesticated Engineering, Religion, Martial Arts, Creative Photography, and listening to the music of Lil Wally, Eddy Zima, and Eddie Blazonczyk.
