Richard Grainger is a guitarist,singer,songwriter,playwright,poet and entertainer. His guitar style is unique,his strong smooth voice compliments his relaxed style. After discovering folk clubs in his native North east England, he was in turn discovered by local folk heroes 'The Teesside Fettlers' - the same band that launched the career of Tees-sider Vin Garbutt. Since taking to the road as a solo artist in 1984 he has never looked back. One of the most prolific and diverse artists on the folk scene, he has produced 14 albums and written a great number of songs, many of which are considered classics and already part of the tradition. Dubbed in 2012 as 'the best folk song writer on the scene today' he is constantly in demand to perform worldwide.
