Lyrically this song means a lot, because just as Christ loves his bride “the church” is the same way men are to love their wives, and not play “Silly Games”, and of course this goes the same for the ladies. I mean seriously think about it…. How much trouble and heartache do men and women cause from cheating? Just think of a few celebrities, politicians, and athletes who aren’t faithful in their marriage, how much suffering is caused from that? Playing games is not only tiring, but also damaging… and playing games with God is even more damaging. When we don’t trust God to provide for us then we’re at risk to lie, cheat, steal, and covet in order to get what we want; which is a form of adultery (Idolatry). Its double adultery when a man steals someone’s wife to please his intimate needs, that’s idolatry, and adultery. My point is that God “will supply” all of our needs, so just like in marriage there is no need of finding that intimacy in another, and when it comes to God… materialism( or whatever else) shouldn’t be substituted for him as the sole provider of our life. Whenever I do get married, all the passion I have will be for my wife, and not for some “chocolate on the side!” Because I know when I give her my love and attention, she will do the same which will take away the “drain”.
