Christopher Tavernier started his piano studies at age 6, and in 2014, became the youngest concert pianist in the history of North Carolina, making his concert debut with the Tar River Philharmonic. Christopher has a large repertoire, but Franz Liszt is his favorite composer. Each year for the past three years, Christopher has performed with his teacher, Dr. John Cobb, in benefit concerts. These Masterworks Series performances on two grand pianos have raised thousands of dollars for Ladies Night Out, a program of the Mission Foundation for early detection of Breast Cancer, When he is not practicing piano or performing, Christopher excels at his eighth grade studies and is a superb chess player.
